Washburn University Board of Regents
SUBJECT: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MINOR
The International Business Major is designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain an understanding of the special considerations
and implications of operating a business in a global environment. Students completing the minor will receive an introduction to international economic, management and marketing principles as applied by businesses today. Students will be exposed to the language and operation of business in a national, multinational and global environment.
This program of study is the result of a joint effort between the Department of International Studies and the School of Business. The proposal is consistent with the commitment to internationalize the curriculum and prepare students for the 21st century.
The proposal has been approved by the School of Business faculty and the University Council. It was approved by the General Faculty on September 10, 1999.
The curriculum for the minor is comprised of courses which are currently being offered or are intended to be offered by the School of Business and International Studies. No additional funding is required at this time.
President Farley recommends approval of the International Business Minor.
