DESCRIPTION:
Bids were received on September 5, 2000 for renovation of Room 235 in Garvey Fine Arts Center to a Music Computer Lab and Listening Library. The bids were as follows:

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The project was originally funded for $30,000 in FY99-00. Since the time the original estimate was made, it was discovered the existing HVAC system is not adequate to handle the new configuration and equipment. Therefore, an additional $47,998 is being allocated to the project from FY00-01 funds. Total expenditure of $77,998 from Capital Improvement Account 03-00302.
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve award of contracts to Bob Florence Co. for $34,929, Samco, Inc. for $29,690, and ACE Electric for $13,379 for the renovation of Garvey 235 into a Music Computer Lab. and Listening Library.
