WASHBURN UNIVERSITY OF TOPEKA BOARD OF REGENTS RETREAT MINUTES November 5, 1994 __________________________________________________________________________________________ I. Chairperson Ferrell called the meeting of the Board of Regents to order at 8:35 a.m. in the Garden Room at the Topeka Country Club. Present were: Messrs. Ferrell, Felker, Kimbrough and Roth, Mrs. Hines, Mrs. Parks and Mrs. Porter. The Executive Director of Planning, Dr. Cohen, led a discussion on priorities of the University; long range goals of the University; and, the institution's program review process. Mr. Maag arrived at 10:15 a.m. It was the consensus of the members of the Board of Regents that the University's Mission Statement is appropriate and reaffirmed that Washburn is primarily a teaching university with the major portion of its resources going to instruction and academic support and that the University's primary recruitment effort will be concentrated in northeast Kansas, including within the definition of northeast Kansas the metropolitan Kansas City area. The Board of Regents members recessed to luncheon at 11:30 a.m. The meeting subsequently adjourned at approximately 12:15 p.m. _________________________________ Kenneth P.
