Agenda Item No.

Washburn University Board of Regents

SUBJECT: Revision to Business and Financial Affairs Handbook: Direct Deposit of Payroll

DESCRIPTION: Under current policy, only benefit eligible employees may participate in the direct deposit program. In order to provide a greater service to employees, it is proposed that effective January 1, 2000, the policy be changed to allow more employees (e.g. adjunct faculty) to participate. Below is the proposed revision. That which is in bold is new, that which is italicized is to be deleted.

REVISE Appendix F, Section 1.2:

"Eligible Employee" for purposes of this policy, means any employee full-time faculty member on a nine or ten month appointment contract and who receives a two-in-one payment in June, or a benefit eligible wage and hour or administrative staff employee (See Section 3.3.1) who is not a student, temporary, incidental or seasonal worker.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

None

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve the proposed revision to the Business and Financial Affairs Handbook.
