SUBJECT: Purchase of replacement computers for Continuing Education Lab
DESCRIPTION: Bids were solicited to purchase fourteen workstation computers, an instructors workstation, and a server. The bids and results are as follows:

Americomp, Topeka, KS (Compaq Dealer) $24,424.00
Micron Education Sales, Meridian, ID $22,726.00
Dell Computer, Round Rock, TX $22,455.00
Additional costs for this project (network connection to the campus backbone) include the following:
Cisco 2621 Router, approx. $2,170.00
Cisco 2924XLEN Switch (24 ports), approx. $2,100.00
Media Conversion Device, approx. $ 400.00
Run cable from switch to lab, approx. $ 200.00
Technical Support Labor, approx. $2,000.00

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds are available within the Continuing Education operating budget, and will be transferred into the Computer/Software account, 01-38050
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends purchase of the fourteen student workstations, the instructors workstation, and the server for the Continuing Education Lab from Dell Computer in the amount of $22,455.00
