SUBJECT: Change Orders Living Learning Center Project
DESCRIPTION:
The following change orders, which modify the contracts of the three prime contractors, are recommended.
* General Contract McPherson Contractors, Inc.
1. Provide curtail wall corner framing and insulated panels in lieu of steel stud framing and break aluminum corners. Net increase: $19,798.00
2.Provide 1-hr. shaft liner construction at the corridor side/front wall of the fan coil unit closets (104 locations). Net increase: $14,160.00
3.Provide 12" x 48" area at suspended ceiling (upper floor both west and south wings of building 1) to accommodate mechanical ductwork. Net increase: $4,519.00
4.Provide 1" insulated glass units with pattern #62 on #3 surface in lieu of " spandrel glass units. Delete the batt insulation at the spandrel glass locations. Net increase: $2,890.00
5.Change fire extinguishers from 5 lb. To 10 lb. units, and modify F.E. cabinets as required. Net increase: $1,540.00
Net contract change: Increase: $42,907.00
No change in contract time - Completion date June 20, 2001.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Net increase in project cost of $42,907. Total commitment from contingency including this request is $187,905, leaving a $334,890 contingency balance.
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends approval of the change orders by the Board of Regents.
