SUBJECT: Athletic Center Addition at Lee Arena

DESCRIPTION:
Construction documents are being completed for the Athletic Center Addition in Lee Arena. This addition includes a large booster room, study room for athletes, coach's offices and a large conference room. Also, included is a reconfiguration of the bleachers at both ends of the court to maximize fan involvement.
Construction bids are planned for distribution on December 18, 2000 with a bid opening date of January 11, 2001. A recommendation to award a contract will be presented to the Board in January.
The construction phase is scheduled for the summer of 2001 and is to be completed in time for the 2001-2002 basketball season.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Construction Budget $945,000
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents authorize the issuing of Construction Documents for the Athletic Center Addition at Lee Arena pursuant to the time schedule detailed previously.
