The Washburn University Board of Regents met via telephone conference call on Friday, December 28, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. in Morgan Hall Room 202 for the purpose of approving the hiring of a Head Football Coach.

I. Call to Order

Chairperson Dick called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

II. Roll Call

Present were: (in person) Mr. Blair and Mr. Engel; (via telephone conference call) Mr. Dick, Mr. Etzel, Mr. Felker, Mrs. Parks and Mr. Roth.

III. New Business

It was moved and seconded to approve the hiring of Craig Schurig as Head Football Coach to begin immediately at an annual salary of $65,000.00 with additional authorization given to hire five assistant coaches at a combined annual salary of $160,000 and increase appropriations in the current budget to allow budget authority for these hirings.

It was moved and seconded to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:16 a.m.
