SUBJECT: Architectural Services Contract for Living/Learning Center
DESCRIPTION:
Washburn University negotiated with Michael Treanor Architects to provide architectural services for the pre-design phase of the Living/Learning Center as per instructions of the Board of Regents at the September 9, 1998 meeting.
The contract to provide the architectural services is in the amount of 6.4% of construction costs plus $54,255.00 additional preliminary design services plus documented reimbursable travel expenses not to exceed $15,000.00

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The architectural services contract will be paid from 03-00531 designated for the Living/Learning Center. At their May, 1998 meeting, the Board authorized the expenditure of up to $280,000 for preliminary design development of the Living/Learning Center.
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents ratify the contract with Michael Treanor Architects. The project will be returned to the Regents at the conclusion of the preliminary design phase for approval of the design and authorization of continued architectural services to carry the project forward.
