SUBJECT: Proposed New time Administrative Position, International Programs
The Director of International Programs has proposed that the vacant full-time classified position of Secretary III in the Institute for International Programs be reallocated to a time administrative position "Coordinator of Student International Activities". The Personnel Office has reviewed the position description, and concurs with the recommendation that the position be administrative. The responsibilities will include serving as coordinator of student international activities; coordinating and implementing activities for international student groups; serving as the liaison between the University and the International Center of Topeka, Inc.; and serving as the liaison between the Institute for International Programs and visiting groups and the academic areas of the University.
In conjunction with the reallocation of this position, a realignment of duties, to include supervision of the proposed new position, as well as a commensurate increase in salary is being proposed for the existing position of Administrative Assistant to the Director.
No additional funding is necessary: funds exist on current budgeted line to allocate $17,000 to new time position and add $2,400 to Administrative Assistant position..
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve the new position Coordinator of Student International Activities with a salary of $17,000 and the increase to the Administrative Assistant position of $2,400.
