Why We Are Here

Our goal is to efficiently manage student-oriented business services, effectively communicate financial information to students, and to educate students to be financially capable adults.

BREAKING NEWS!

Due to the Morgan Hall HVAC renovation taking place this summer, the Business Office is moving on Tuesday, May 19, to Morgan 278 (in the west wing of Morgan, next to the southwest stairwell).

The Business Office phone will continue to be (785) 670-1156 and our web address (http://www.washburn.edu/business-office) will remain unchanged. All of our online services, including IBOD, will be fully operational. Only our physical location is changing.

We anticipate moving back into Morgan 205 the week of August 10. In the meantime, we will be operating with just the necessities. This means we may not be able to provide the high level of service we normally aspire to, especially if we need to access information which will be stored in the vault over the summer. Due to limited counter space, we will not have terminals available for students who wish to access IBOD or make a payment online. Students desiring to access IBOD or to make an online payment may visit one of the computer labs on campus, or use their own PCs. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and ask for your patience as we work out of our temporary home.

What We Do

Our responsibilities include:

Assisting students with questions about their accounts

Assessing tuition and fees on a timely basis

Generating e-bills and maintaining accurate student account balances

Facilitating payments of outstanding student account balances

Refunding excess balances on student accounts

Managing the Emergency Loan program

Additionally, we provide cashiering services to the Washburn University community.

We facilitate payments of outstanding student account balances by:

Maintaining a 24/7 online payment system accessible world-wide

Making it easy for parents and others to make payments on student accounts

Receiving payments by phone, by mail, and in person

Offering payment plan options to ease financial pressures

Billing and receiving payments from Third Party sources

When We Do It

The Business Office is open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Wednesdays when we open at 8:30 AM. We are closed on all University holidays. Our online services are always available, except for scheduled system maintenance.
