How will I know if my Financial Aid is in?
How will I know how much I owe for tuition and fees?

Several answers about charges and financial aid are all about timing. The quick answers to these question are:

Keep an eye on your MyWashburn account for information about your student account.

Tuition and fees were set for the 2008-2009 fiscal year in May, 2008. The fiscal (and academic year) runs till June 30, 2009. Differential tuition rates began with the Fall 2007 semester.

The very best thing for students to do with this new system is to become familiar with their MyWashburn accounts. Student accounts are accessible on the web and display information as it becomes available.

Through my.washburn.edu, you may:

Register for semester courses; drop and add classes, print class schedules.
Check financial accounts, payment deadlines, financial aid payments
Receive official emails from the University
Receive targeted announcements from the University
Receive communications from professors
Make payments, set up payment plans, print your bill
Check grades on line.....and more

In what ways can I pay?

If you want to bring cash to the window, bring or mail in a check, or call in a credit card, you can. If you're paying your own way, and don't anticipate any financial aid, and if you're pre-registered, or register through the open web registration period, PLEASE remember to pay or make payment arrangements by the date(s) designated as "Last Day to Pay without a Late Fee:. You can drop any and all classes via MyWashburn, but 100% refunds end two weeks after classes begin during a full semester, and within a few days for shorter, summer terms.

One of the benefits of the computer system at Washburn is that allows those who want to to pay on line. Credit cards accepted are VISA, MasterCard American Express and Discover. In addition, you can pay with a WebCheck. Go to the MyWashburn student tab, IBOD button, to access your account and pay via the web.

I've heard that I can't enroll on the web if I have a hold on my student account. Is that true?

Yes, it's true. And it's always been true - it's just different being able to enroll on line. You need to make sure your holds are paid before you try to enroll. Please come to the business office to pay your account, mail in a payment or pay it via MyWashburn. Outstanding charges for the current term need to be paid in full before you will be permitted to enroll in a future term, unless you have an active payment plan that is paid up to date.

Can I still set my account up on payments?

Yes, you'll be able to do this after you enroll and get your classes scheduled. Go to "IBOD" within MyWashburn (my.washburn.edu), accessable through the "students" tab that will allow you to make payments, as long as you're taking at least 3 credit hours. Remember, if you drop and add classes your total due and amount of payments could change. Please check your account on line to make sure you've paid your balance or set up installments.

How do I arrange for my parents to be authorized to see my account?

Get into IBOD, via MyWashburn, students tab. Click on the "Authorized users" tab and follow the links. We can't talk to anyone about your account unless you profide that authorization. Once you do, the Business Office can talk to your parents or other authorized user about your student financial account ONLY, not grades or anything else. After your user completes the authorization process, s/he logs on to:

  https://payment.washburn.edu/tsa/web/login.jsp

to see your account.

Where do I get an ID card?

Go to the Ichabod Service Center in the Memorial Union. ID Cards (ICards) are free to students, provide a photo ID, and lots of other campus perks. They also display your WIN number, which you will need for enrolling on line.

What's IBOD?

IBOD (Ichabod Billing on Demand) is Washburn University's online billing system. It allows you, as a Washburn student, to:

View and print an E-Bill
Enter (and change) bank information for direct deposit or automatic payments
Authorize others (parents, spouse) to see/pay your account (see below)
Request notification by e-mail anytime an event happens on your account
Set up an installment plan for yourself

Direct Deposit for Refunds - You must enter your own information!

The IBOD system allows both credits and debits; you can receive refunds via
direct deposit, and also set up a direct pay payment plan from your account.

You are ALSO able to delete your bank information or revoke your instructions to make automatic payments, in case you decide you'd rather pay another way,
or, if, for example, you closed your account, or you needed to receive a check instead of direct deposit for some other reason.

How Do I Set Up Direct Deposit ?

Open your MyWashburn account. Click the Students tab. in the "Tuition and Payments" channel in the top center of the page, you'll see an "IBOD" link. Click that. On the welcome page that appears next, look on the top right hand corner. Click "Personal Profile". That will cause a "Payment Profile" tab to appear. Follow the directions to fill in the form. At the bottom of the form, under "Refund Option", check the box where indicated to have refunds direct deposited to the account you've entered.

Please note: Washburn CANNOT take funds from your bank account. Only you (or your authorized user) can arrange to have payments automatically made from a bank account or credit card.

Can I Pay My Old Balance With My Fall Financial Aid?

Not anymore. Due to changes in Federal law, this is no longer possible.

How Can I Request That My Refund Be Mailed?

There are links within MyWashburn, on the student tab, Tuition & Payments
  channel for you to:
Request a check be mailed
Authorize payment of old debt with your current financial aid
Let us know if a Third Party (employer, military) will be paying your bill

How Do I Set Up A Payment Plan?

You set up your own. Please go to My.Washburn.edu, students tab, IBOD, to see the payment plan.
It costs $30 to set up an installment plan.
You can set up your profile, in IBOD, to alert you days before a payment is due. If payment is not made on time, there
will be a $25.00 charge per payment.

Why Do I Have To Pay a Setup Fee?

When you choose to pay in installments, essentially the University is loaning you
money. There is no interest charged for this; but a setup fee is necessary
to cover the costs of deferred payment.
