24 Hour Emergency Services

The employees of Facilities Services will respond to the following emergency situations: fire and fire alarm; power outages; pipe breaks; toilet overflowing or plugged; faucet, shower head or gas line leaks or unable to turn off; sewer line backup; elevator, wheelchair lift and door lock problems; broken glass, smell of natural gas, sewer odor or smoke; major roof leaks, flood, and other unsafe facilities conditions. 

Please make all emergency calls to Facilities Services (785) 670-1149 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. University Police can be called between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00a.m. weekdays and 24 hours a day during weekends and holidays at (785) 670-1153. 

The University Police Dispatcher shall call utility companies and contractors, if Facilites Services staff cannot be reached. The Dispatcher shall call 911 for emergencies related to fire and utility companies related to utilities use, then notify Facilities Services staff.
