The curriculum offered in Sociology is designed to:

1. provide a basis for later professional or graduate training;
2. satisfy the needs of the student, major or non-major, who is interested in a broad liberal arts education; and
3. provide training for the student who intends to seek immediate employment in occupations that utilize a sociological background. We recommend that prospective majors and minors consult with Department advisors as early as possible.
