To obtain the Optional Minor in Women's Studies, a student must complete at least 15 hours of designated Women's Studies course work, with at least 6 of the hours at the upper division level. The Minor will be supervised by a Women's Studies Minor Committee, under the coordination of the CAS Dean's Office. Students may accumulate course hours counting toward WSM in two ways. They may (a) enroll in courses formally identified as counting towards the WSM or (b) they may petition the WSM Committee to have their work in other classes designated as counting toward their specific Minor program. In order to gain WSM designation for a course, students will be expected to demonstrate that a majority of that course's work directly relates to Women's Studies.
