Ceremony Details

Commencement is a celebration to honor and recognize the achievements of all graduates. With respect to all, it is expected that graduates and their family and friends will remain for the entire ceremony. Commencement is expected to last approximately two hours for the Fall ceremony and one and one-half hours for the Spring ceremony. Please make your plans accordingly.

No tickets are required. The event is open to the public.

University staff will be available to assist guests with special needs, however, it is important that those guests requiring assistance and/or special seating notify the Student Services Office at 785.670.1629, or student-services@washburn.edu, at least 2 weeks in advance.

Parking is available at no charge in the parking lots around Petro Allied Health Center and on campus.

For your benefit, we have made arrangements with Chappell Studios to have a professional photographer take pictures of all graduates. Graduates who wish to take photos with their families should do so before the ceremony. More information is available at www.chappell.com. IMPORTANT: Please click on the Grad Image link on the Photographer's page to pre-register your permanent email address.
