Financial Aid

Cost of Attendance

The Financial Aid Office uses a standard Cost of Attendance for all students based on an estimated average cost of tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation, personal expenses, and loan fees. The Cost of Attendance is not necessarily what a student will pay to go to school, but an estimate of the direct and indirect costs a student may experience for one academic year. The Cost of Attendance is used in determining a student's financial need for need-based grants, loans, and work-study. Additionally, it sets the limit on the maximum amount of financial aid a student may receive.

At Washburn University, the Cost of Attendance is established for students based upon their dependency status (as determined by the FAFSA), their residency status (i.e. in-state or out-of-state), level in college (i.e. undergraduate, graduate, or law student), their enrollment level (i.e. full-time, less than full-time, and less than half-time), and whether or not they are in a fully online program of study.

Below are the Cost of Attendance budgets for the 2017-2018 academic year.
