Richey Scholarship

The Richey Scholarship is awarded to select students who achieve a high school GPA of at least 3.9 and earn an ACT composite score of at least 28.  This scholarship is by invitation only.  ACT scores must be received by Admissions by January 4, 2013.  To renew the Richey Scholarship, you must maintain a GPA of 3.50 while at Washburn. 

The Richey Scholars Program

This is Washburn's premier scholarship with an award of $6,000 renewable annually for four years for a total of $24,000.  

Eligibility is limited to students who have achieved at the highest level academically and demonstrated the potential to succeed at the university level and contribute to the Washburn community.  

The Richey Scholarship is by invitation only.  Application packets will include:

1. Cover Letter stating intent of Application
2. Completed Richey Scholar's Program Application
3. Résumé
4. Names and contact information of three references
5. The Application Essay
6. Official High School transcript (if not already on file at Washburn)
7. Official report of ACT score (if not reported on High School transcript)
8. Official transcript of any college courses taken while in High School
9. Application for Admission to Washburn University

The deadline for submissions of completed applications is January 11, 2013.  Applications postmarked after January 11 will not be considered.  Please return your complete packet to:
