Christine Edmunds
Christine Edmunds, Victim Rights and Services Consultant, has conducted training programs in criminal justice issues and victim rights and services in over forty-five states. Chris was instrumental through her work with the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) and the National Crime Victim Center in developing public policy initiatives and training programs on the federal and state levels. As a consultant to the Office of Victims of Crime she served as the primary author and editor of
New Directions from the Field: Victim's Rights and Services for the 21st Century.
She co-founded the
National Victim Assistance Academy (NVAA) in 1995 and has served as senior faculty since that time. She is an adjunct professor for the California State University at Fresno and for Washburn University. She has authored or co-authored numerous book chapters, including "Victims of Family Violence," "Victims of Sexual Assault," and "Victim Advocacy and Public Policy" in the JCVVS text,
Victims Assistance: Exploring Individual Practice, Organizational Policy, and Societal Responses and numerous chapters of the
NVAA Text.
