Joan Gay is employed as the Victim-Witness Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office, District of Kansas. Mrs. Gay has a Master of Administration of Justice and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in Sociology and with a minor in Psychology. She has previously worked with the Wichita Police Department and the Civil Rights and Services Office.
Ms. Gay has provided services to victims of domestic terrorism in two high profile cases. She serves on the Advisory Council of the DUI Victims Center of Kansas and is a member of the Kansas Association on Victim Assistance. She is a member of the OVC grant review committee,and has worked with the Wichita Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children. She has made numerous presentations to law enforcement agencies and victim service providers on how to serve victims of crime. She has certification in Compassion Fatigue from Florida State University and is currently pursuing certification in Critical Incident Stress Management.
