The JCVVS will once again host the National
Victim Assistance Academy during the week of
June 25-30, 2006. The universities associated with
the NVAA have been associated with this program for
over a decade. The Academy will be conducted at
Washburn University, the most centrally located of
the three universities. However, representatives
from each of the universities will serve as faculty for
this national program.
The NVAA is a
foundation level professional education program that
provides exposure to the broad spectrum of topics
that are necessary to form the core of the basic
education in victims' rights and services. The
academic-based curriculum emphasizes foundations
in victimology and victim services. A variety of
instructional approaches are utilized in order to best
address the diverse content areas as well as the
diverse learning needs of the participants.
