Advisory Council Member Honored

JCVVS Advisory Council member Rev. Kathy Manis Findley, Executive Director of the Center for Healing and Hope in Little Rock, Arkansas, received the Annual Women of Peace Award from the Women's Peacepower Foundation. Kathy was one of the twelve adult women and one youth winner honored for exceptional work to promote peace in their community and around the world. Congratulations Kathy!

Communication Skills in the Human Service Organization

Most practitioners in human services are skilled in effective communication with clients or customers of services, but there are other communication skills needed for effective interaction in the organization, with boards, and with allied professionals.

The course Communication Skills in the Human Service Organization is scheduled for November 30-December 1 at California State University- Fresno. Sharon Montagnino is the instructor for this two-day course that also features pre-course learning. Register before November 15 for the regular price.

American Symposium on Victimology

The JCVVS is pleased to promote the 5th Annual American Symposium on Victimology scheduled for April 11-13, 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The ASV is currently accepting proposals for presentations and exhibits.
