Professional Development and Consultation

The Joint Center on Violence and Victim Studies offers professional development courses and consultation on the multi-faceted and complex aspects of violence and victimization and the delivery of services to address these issues.

Professional Education

Focus on the unique needs of the professional adult learners is emphasized in program development and instruction.

Consultation

The JCVVS has access to a host of national experts who can assist in a variety of service, organizational and policy issues. The JCVVS can assist in an initial needs assessment to determine the level of consultation and technical assistance and then refer the appropriate JCVVS resource for additional service.

Partnership with JCVVS

Organizations can contract with the JCVVS to offer a professional education course for an established fee. This is especially popular with state agencies, associations, regulatory bodies, or large service organizations that wish to provide a consistency of education to a group of practitioners. A major benefit of contract programs is that the unique needs of an organization or area are integrated into the curriculum. The JCVVS consults with the organization in assessment of issues and needs that can be addressed in training.
