Workplace Violence:
Assessment and Strategies for Community Agencies

Professional Development Hours: 12

Web-based Self Study

Like all organizations, community agencies are affected by various forms of workplace violence. Community agencies are unique in that oftentimes the very nature of the type of work places those organizations at greater risk. Further, many agencies do not have the resources to address workplace violence in a comprehensive manner.

The course provides the information and tools necessary for an organization to assess risks and to identify strategies of prevention and responses. The course may benefit any person concerned about workplace violence, but it is particularly targeted to those organizations that offer services in the community, such as social services, health care, victim assistance, faith-based services, community corrections, and others. The goal of the program is to offer agencies a facilitated process to develop strategies that may be directly transferable to the organization.

This online professional development program is offered as an independent study so that individuals may access and complete the course at their own pace. All materials will be available on the course web-page. Individuals will be contacted within 48 hours of registration with a password for course access.

Check the course schedule for available courses.
