Directions in Organizational Leadership:

Developing and Balancing Relationship, Task, and Change Orientations

Either by design or by circumstance, be it formal or informal, many people are in positions of leadership. In today’s complex and ever-changing world, professionals must have a solid orientation regarding their relationships, tasks, change, and their own professional growth.  The Washburn University Directions in Organizational Leadership offers an in-depth and comprehensive opportunity for individuals working in an array of work environments to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for continued leadership professional development.

The program guides participants though various relationship, task, and change orientations integral to effective leadership. The forty-five hours of class are complemented by readings and assignments that lead to an individualized Leadership Action Plan. Full and satisfactory participation in all aspects of the program is required for award of a professional certificate of completion issued by Washburn University.

The program is led by Rich Drinon, consultant, educator, and author. Program materials include Rich’s book “Stepping Up To Leadership,” a course workbook, and web-based applications before and during the program.  The intense course schedule consists of five, day and a half class sessions scheduled every other week. Day one of the two-day class session runs from 8:15a.m. to 4:00p.m., lunch is provided; the second day runs from 8:15a.m. to 11:45a.m.
