
The Essentials of Human Resources Management course provides a foundation in human resources management for any manager, supervisor, administrator, or new human resources practitioner interested in learning employee management skills. The course provides the critical knowledge to help reduce litigation and handle challenging employment issues. Through presentation of best practices, case studies, and interaction with content experts, the course will provide the fundamentals for compliance with key pieces of federal legislation, such as sexual harassment, age discrimination, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Issues of employee recruitment, compensation and benefits, orientation and training, and performance appraisals will also be addressed.
The course is scheduled four hours a week from 8:15a.m. to 1:00p.m. for three consecutive weeks. The SHRM “Essentials of Human Resource Management” book is provided. This same course offered by the SHRM national organization is over $1,000; Washburn University offers the course for only $435.
