SHRM PHR/SPHR Certification Course Instructors

Lisa Carlton, MBA, SPHR

Lisa Carlton is the Director of Compensation and Benefits/HRIS/Payroll at Stormont-Vail HealthCare. She has over twenty years experience in management and administration for both profit and non-profit organizations.  Lisa is currently the Director of the State SHRM Council of Kansas and has also been actively involved in the Topeka chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and was its president in 2007. She received her Masters in Business Administration from Baker University and her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Missouri Southern State University. She was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources in 2004.

Larry Robbins, B.S. - Human Resources Management, PHR, SPHR

Larry Robbins is the Executive Director of Operations for the Topeka Public School system.   His career path has been in operations management in a wide variety of manufacturing and business settings. He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 34 years of service in various leadership positions, including assignment as plant manager at three different facilities. He led a successful lobbying effort with city, county, and state officials that resulted in passage of a $10 million bond issue.  In addition, he facilitated negotiation of a successful agreement with the Steelworkers union for contract changes designed to improve competitiveness.  After a short retirement, Larry worked for Premier Executive Recruiting in Topeka as Director of Recruiting and Business Development. Larry graduated from Friends University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management. He received his PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and his SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification in 2009.

Cynthia Stotlar, M.Ed., SPHR

Cynthia Stotlar is the Vice President of Training and Organizational Development for Creative Business Solutions.  As the founder of company in 1992, Cynthia has over 17 years experience in management and human resources.  She has worked in both the non-profit and for-profit arenas.  Cynthia has authored articles on developing customer service programs, managing diversity and developing performance appraisal systems and much more.  She is a co-author of Career Compass for Women, Speaking of Success and Power Tools for Success plus was a regular contributor for HERS magazine.  Cynthia received her Master’s in Adult Education from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University. She also has her certification as a Senior Human Resources Professional and received certification from ASTD (American Society for Training Development) for Human Performance Improvement.
