AR 229 - Web Graphics I: Carol Yoho, instructor

Text: none. Software has good Help features. Our Syllabus, with helpful links, is posted online.

Software: We will use Windows on dual-boot Mac computers in the Carnegie computer lab: Adobe Dreamweaver v. 8 and Abobe Photoshop Elements v. 7. Both softwares are provided for use in our computer lab classroom.

You can download current versions of both software as 30-day free trials--
http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
(You may want to wait toward end-of-semester to download and use this software to develop your final project.)

Optional Media: a memory stick or CDs for storing projects and backing up work. (Not required.)

AR 233 EA - Computer Graphic Design I: Janet Zoble, instructor

Text: Visual QuickStart Guide: Illustrator CS3
Binder: in which to accumulate handouts during the course
Media: a flash drive or CDs on which to hand in projects and keep a backup archive or work

AR260 - Ceramics I: Glenda Taylor, instructor

I suggest waiting to buy your tools until after first class meeting. You may want to make some tools, or you may already have some necessary tools.

  • Basic ceramic tool kit available at Bookstore, Hobby Lobby, or Michaels- approx $12
  • 1-3 brushes for glaze/wax - approx $2 each
  • 1 gal bucket, towel, texture makers, sponges, misc things you have at home - free!
  • Clay - $16 for 50 lbs - buy at bookstore, pick up in Art Dept. You
won't need this until 3 or 4 weeks into the semester. The Dept supplies clay for the first projects. Total amount of clay used in the semester is usually 2-3 boxes, depending on size and how much you make.
  • Text book - available in bookstore - new or used.

AR321 - Photoshop Imaging I: Brian House, instructor

The only thing I ask my students to supply is a thumb drive (or flash memory drive) on which to turn in their assignments. The drive needs to be at least 1 GB.
