The Ichabods will take their first 3-0 start in four years on the road as they play two games against fellow unbeaten teams in the Central Oklahoma OSSO Thanksgiving Classic this weekend. Friday they will play Southwestern Oklahoma State (3-0) at 6 p.m. and then Saturday they will play the host Bronchos (5-0) at 8 p.m. in Hamilton Fieldhouse.

Washburn's senior to be Zach Watkins (Independence, Mo.) was named to the second team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American squad which was announced today. Watkins has a 3.63 grade point average while majoring in finance. He is the first Ichabod football player since Eric Taylor in 2003 to receive All-American honors. Watkins is a two-time first team Academic All-District selection.

Senior outside hitter Monica Miesner was named to the AVCA all-South Central Region first team for the third time in her career and sophomore outside hitter Ashley Shepard was named to the honorable mention team.

The No. 2 ranked Washburn Lady Blues will play host to the Washburn Holiday Classic by hosting Sterling (4-2) on Friday night at 7 p.m. and then No. 8 ranked Indiana (Pa.) (3-0) on Saturday night at 8 p.m. Fellow MIAA member Missouri Western will take on Indiana (Pa.) on Friday at 5 p.m. before playing Sterling on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Head coach Bob Chipman coached his 900th game with the Ichabods Tuesday night and they reached the 100-point mark for the 64th time in school history as they beat Baker 107-64 in Lee Arena. Washburn (3-0) made 14 3-pointers, one short of the school record and the Ichabods shot 51 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 2 Washburn Lady Blues jumped out to an 11-0 lead and kept the No. 4 Drury Lady Panthers playing catch up the entire game as Washburn won 84-62 in a battle of top five teams. Washburn improves to 3-0 and will be back in action on Friday at 7 p.m. against Sterling in the Lady Blues Holiday Classic. Washburn will take on No. 7 Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday at  8 p.m.

The Washburn Lady Blues basketball team climbed one spot to No. 2 in the WBCA USA Today ESPN Division II Coaches Poll which was released today. Washburn faced No. 4-ranked Drury Tuesday night in Lee Arena at 5:30 p.m.

Three games into his 30th season at Washburn, head coach Bob Chipman will coach his 900th game on the Ichabods bench as they host Baker at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Arena Tuesday. Washburn will enter the game at 2-0 while the Wildcats will come in with a 1-4 record and count the contest as an exhibition.
