Residential Living has updated all of the 2013-2014 contract information and is ready to start reserving your space for the upcoming year. Current residents who decide to stay on-campus for the upcoming year will be assigned first. The following schedule has been put into place to allow us to guarantee your choice of room/space whenever possible. February 24, 2013 will be the last day that returning students will be able to reserve specific spaces; after this date, the halls will open up for the assignment of incoming students.
Friday, February 15, 2013 – Residents who want to live in the same room and same hall.
Saturday, February 16, 2013 – Residents who want to live in the same building/apartment complex, but move to another room.
Sunday, February 17 – 24, 2013 – All current Residents wanting to live in any of the facilities.
All students interested in on-campus housing will complete the Housing Contract and Deposit on-line. To do this you will need to log in to your MyWashburn and click the Student Life tab. Once on the Student Life tab you will see the Residential Living Channel that describes the steps needed to complete the process.
In order to be able to reserve your room for next fall, the department will need your housing application and a $300 ($100 deposit and $200 pre-payment) deposit. This process is first-come, first-serve starting on February 15, 2013 and ending February 24, 2013. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We will continue to accept contracts from current residents after February 24, 2013 and will make every effort to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee it.
At this time, no new privates will be allocated until two weeks in the fall 2013 semester.
If you would like to request a roommate, your roommate/s needs to turn in their request the same day as you in order to guarantee your entire room reservation.
Resident Assistant Applicants
If you have applied to be a Resident Assistant, please go ahead and reserve your room. If you are offered a position and you accept, you will be reimbursed the $200 and the $100 will be kept for a damage deposit.
Students wishing to stay on campus for the summer will be housed in the Washburn Village, Buildings 2 and 3 only. Information regarding summer housing will be updated as soon as possible.
The Residential Living Office encourages students living in the Village in Fall 2013 AND staying for the summer to consider choosing a space in Building 2 or 3 (for Fall 2013) to avoid having to move between buildings from summer to fall.
Please contact the Residential Living office at 785-670-1065, or stop by in person if you have questions.
