Dad's Navy shoes, about to be tossed Dad's shoes, 60 years of wear Cat LOVES Dad's shoes cat and Navy shoes Marilya's photo of Max and Carol
Shoes, above, are my Dad's Navy shoes. He'd worn one pair (on the right in the photos above) since being reissued shoes after he lost his in the sinking of CVE-21 Block Island on May 29, 1944, over 60 years ago. He bought the other pair, Navy-issue, in the 1950s and worn them to stand long hours during his barbering career. He finally decided that, maybe, he should toss them out. I had to photograph them first. Dad wears small men's shoes, size 7 1/2. Max and Carol were photographed in their home by Marilya Veteto Reese, visiting from Flagstaff, AZ, in January 2009.
