This year's festival focused on
Buster Keaton and his friendship
with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle.
The keynote speaker was
Leonard Maltin: author, celebrity of
Entertainment Tonight, and Keaton fan.

Rochelle Goldman from Brooklyn made
the highest bid at auction to snatch up
an authetic Keaton pork-pie hat. The hat
was shaped by the practiced hands of
Buster's widow, Eleanor, specially for this
event. Eleanor Keaton and long-time
Keaton friend, James Karen, visited
Iola's festival in 1994 and 1995.
Rochelle Goldman won Buster's hat! John and Betty

John has been to all of the Keaton Festivals. In 1996 he invited his mother, Betty, to join in the fun. Keaton Festivals have been held since 1993, in Iola, Kansas, during the last weekend of September.
