It was fascinating to watch spring burning of the prairie grasses near Council Grove, Kansas, April, 2008. The heat was intense, and hawks patrolled the area, hoping to find dinner fleeing the flames. These fires were carefully controlled. |
The smell of burning grass is wonderful!
