Post Rock Country, Kansas
Post Rock Country of North Central Kansas is a wide-open space of rolling hills and few trees. Grass grows atop a thin layer of limestone rock. Once fence posts were made of rock rather than of scarce wood.

In spring everything growing is green. And the sky is wide, clear, and brillant blue.

We enjoyed a recent trip west on Highway 18 -- parallel to and about 10 miles north of Interstate 70 -- but a whole different experience than interstate travel.
