| The farm of Christopher C. Martin and later his son, Cleveland T. Martin, was located on what, in 2000, is Brown Road--just north of the Shawnee County line in Jackson County, Kansas, 1/2 mile west of the Jefferson County line. Cleve's farm was 320 acres, 1/2 section: 1/2 mile wide east/west and one mile wide north/south. In addition, Cleve and family farmed Grandma Anna Martin's adjacent property: 40 acres east and 80 acres south. The southern acreage (in Shawnee County) was used for pasture land. |
