The Biology Major for Secondary Education Teachers

To be certified to teach biology at the secondary level, majors must complete a BA or BS degree (see Biology
Major). The student must also meet the certification requirements for teaching general science and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75. Additional course work that is required is as follows:

BI 155 Sexually Transmitted Diseases or BI 325 Microbiology of Human Diseases
BI 202 Biology of Behavior
one course in anatomy (BI 250 or 275)
one course in physiology (BI 255 or 330)
BI 310 Ecology
BI 340 Evolutionary Biology
