Step-by-step instructions for evaluating KPA documents
How do I score the KPA?
Please follow these guidelines to
get a proper final score:
• "Checklist" items should be scored only with a 1 for No and a 5 for Yes. The paper evaluation version only allows a Yes or No. You will see whether they are Checklist items as there is no criteria other than Yes under Advanced and No under Not Demonstrated. I know it is tempting to put some other number on the Checklist items besides 1 and 5, but this is setup to coincide with the KS scoring and is mathematically correct. Any other number besides a 1 or 5 will skew the final score.
• The "Indicators" however, can be given any score between 1 and 5 in decimal form. ie. 2.7, 3.9 etc. The Indicators have performance level criteria as noted on the TS rubric.

Is there a printable version of the KPA rubric?
Taskstream says someone else is evaluating the KPA. What do I do?
Only
one person can evaluate a student at a time. So,
there are a couple of ways to deal with this.
1. You can coordinate with the other evaluator as to when each of you will be actively evaluating a student and take turns.
2. You can click on evaluate, then download the student's files to your computer and then click on Cancel Evaluation. This way you can read and evaluate the KPA document at your leisure and then go back in later to enter the evaluation scores. Be sure to Cancel the Evaluation so the other evaluator can get to the student work.
