Maureen Godman

Associate Professor Maureen Godman has a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Leicester, England, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. She joined the Washburn English Department in 1999. She has recently taught courses in Marlowe, Shakespeare, Women’s Networks in Renaissance England, and British Renaissance Literature. Her research interests on in Shakespeare, Marlowe, and Donne, particularly the ways in which historical contexts affect their literary endeavors; the connection between concealment and creativity; and women’s spheres of influence and authority as rulers, writers, and patrons.
