Thomas Fox Averill

is an O. Henry Award winner and Professor Emeritus of English at Washburn University of Topeka, where for 37 years he taught courses in Creative Writing and in Kansas Literature, Folklore and Film. His books are:

After collecting Kansas books, manuscripts, letters and other ephemera, for 40+ years, Tom donated his materials to Washburn University's Mabee Library, where it now makes up the Thomas Fox Averill Kansas Studies Collection.

 

Tom and his students have spent years compiling a website, Map of Kansas Literature, as a resource for anyone interested in Kansas Writers.
