The web links listed on this page offer quick access to a large variety of Kansas history resources, and thus are intended to be useful to all Kansas Characters students, whether working on performance or website projects. Suggestions for additional useful links will be most welcome.

Broad Content Web Sites: these all offer access to many Kansas resources or links

  • Kansas State Historical Society webpage, the basic web resource for students in this course.
  • Kansas Collection: contains online versions of hard-to-find Kansas books, diaries, photographs, etc.
  • Heritage Server: The larger list of which the Kansas Collection is a part. I has lots of lists of links both to Kansas websites & digital images and other resources; strongest for 19th-century Kansas topics
  • Interactive Map of Kansas: Click on an area, and go to a page listing weblinks relevant to that area, including history
  • Old West Kansas  Lots of links to 19th-century related Kansas topics; good source of digital images
