The Collgege Experience, IS 100

IS 100 is a course designed to provide Washburn students with the opportunities to develop their intellectual, civic and cultural identities. Our goal is to guide students on their journey. We believe that through active participation in this course, students will cultivate the skills necessary for success in an academic environment.

IS 100 students develop skills in goal setting and planning, effective reading, effective notetaking, testing strategies, memorization techniques and learning to cope with stress. The course introduces students to computing at Washburn, the Mabee library and co-curricular activities. Students will design an academic plan for their college career. This plan will be developed through careful consideration of students' interests and talents.
