Dr. Catherine Hunt joined the Washburn staff in 2003. Dr. Hunt received a federal grant to fund the website as an example of how to involve "real" music teachers in teacher preparation in higher eduction. This project was chosen for presentation at the Nebraska Music Educators Conference (Lincoln, NE), the National Educational Computing Conference (San Antonio, TX), the International Society of Music Educators (Bergen, Norway), and the Kansas Music Educators Association Annual Convention & In-Service Workshop.

Dr. Hunt also serves as the Southwestern Division Representtive (Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) for the Early Childhood Music Special Research Interest Group that works in collaboration with the National Association of Music Educators (MENC). She continues to teach music to young children (ages 4-7) and is an advocate for early childhood education.
