Ann Marie Snook, mezzo-soprano, received a Bachelor of Music degree from Millikin University and a Master of Music degree from Michigan State University, and a DMA fom the University of Kansas, all majoring in Vocal Performance, joined the Washburn faculty in 1991.
Snook has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Center for American Artists, Springfield (Missouri) Regional Opera, Kansas City Philharmonic, Jackson (Michigan) Symphony, Peninsula Bach Festival (Wisconsin), Springfield (Missouri) Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Greater Lansing Symphony, Battle Creek Symphony, Saginaw (Michigan) Opera, Traverse City (Michigan) Symphony, and the Topeka Festival Singers.
Before coming to Washburn in 1990, she taught at Michigan State University, Albion College, and Southwest Baptist University.
Snook has been a winner of the Metropolitan Opera District Award, the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award, The St. Louis Symphony Award, and many others.
She participated in the world premier of Krystof Penderecki's Paradise Lost at La Scala Opera, Milan, Italy.
