Topeka is home to a vibrant arts community. The Topeka Performing Arts Center hosts touring Broadway musicals, dance companies, and performances. Area music attractions include the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, the Topeka Community Concert Association, and the Topeka Opera Society. The annual Coleman Hawkins Legacy Jazz Festival has established itself as a major regional jazz event. Mulvane Art Museum on the Washburn University campus displays works by national and international artists. The popular First Friday Art Walks provide opportunities to explore exhibits in the numerous local art galleries.
