Washburn University consistently ranks among the top-ten Midwest public master’s-level universities according to U.S. News and World Report. The university’s hiring policies and commitment to small class sizes bolster the educational quality. Eighty-seven percent of the full-time faculty hold terminal degrees. Forty-one percent of undergraduate classes have fewer than twenty students, and the university maintains a student-faculty ratio of sixteen to one. The university draws upon a solid base of financial support: with an endowment of over $126 million, Washburn ranks second among public institutions in Kansas in funding per student.
