From the first moment I encountered Sunday Father, and ever since, it has captivated me. It holds its fingers on the pulse of human intimacy and unflichingly reveals an emotional range as startling as it is ordinary. compassion, cruelty, sweet irony and brutal truth coexist in the lives of the three characters as they fumble their way (we hope) toward greater happiness. ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Penny Weiner is an Assistant Professor of theatre at washburn. She is a director, teacher and playwright. beside Washburn, Penny has directed for and at various venues in Kansas City. among the productions she has directed: the Laramie Project, wit, Six degrees of separation, Lysistrata and No exit. she directed her new play fallout in Kansas city in the fall of 2004. she is member in good standing of "the Hags," an active alternative performance group. |
