Knowledge is Power

The best thing to do to defend yourself against copyright infringement is to arm yourself with knowledge. Copyright law is very complex, but it boils down to one simple rule: the creator of a work has control over how that work is duplicated and distributed. Making unlawful copies (even a photocopy of a newspaper article) could be an infringement of copyright.
