Support for Students on Academic Probation

Washburn University requires participation in the Students Taking Academic Responsibility (STAR) program for students placed on academic probation for the first time, and selected continuing probation students.  Once a student is recognized as being on academic probation, they are automatically enrolled in the STAR program.

Students Taking Academic Responsibility (STAR) is a program designed to provide students with the following:

  • Understanding of Washburn University’s policy for academic probation
  • Identifying obstacles to academic success
  • Skills to assist students to return to academic good standing
  • Knowledge of helpful university resources
  • Development of goals and priorities
