The Faculty Development Program consists of monthly workshops, a variety of teaching assessment opportunities, and a Mentoring Program for new faculty. A steering committee composed of faculty members governs and guides the Faculty Development Program. Faculty Development workshops focus on enhancing teaching, learning, and scholarship across disciplines, and changing technologies and student populations with a goal of supporting all aspects of instructional excellence and professional development. The Mentoring Program provides assistance to new faculty in finding their way in their new academic home at Washburn.
Every year deserving Washburn faculty members are honored by their peers at the Employee Recognition Ceremony in the areas of Teaching, Scholarship, and Service. Faculty have been receiving awards since 1992 and a list of all previous award winners is available.
