Human Resources seeks candidates for an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach position in Athletics. This position reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Schedule teams, make team travel arrangements, work with Financial Aid to ensure scholarships are in place and perform other administrative duties to assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Coach basketball techniques during practices, run practices and workouts, etc., to assist with coaching and building players' abilities and capabilities.
Scout for and recruit quality student-athletes.
Monitor individual student athletes' academic progress, tracking class schedules, grades and academic progress to support academic achievement.
Attend conferences and workshops, research publications, etc., to remain apprised of University, MIAA and NCAA rules and regulations, and conduct all assigned duties in a manner that supports program compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of Washburn University Women's Basketball and Athletics.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and experience coaching and/or playing basketball. Valid Kansas driver's license with driving record that meets University standards.
PREFERRED: Master's degree. Experience in college athletics. Experience in Women's basketball.
